It’s KCON season again kids and artist announcements have begun! Wanna One is the first artists announced to perform at KCON NY 2018 during last night’s KCON Live Chat. The eleven-member group will be on the stage of the Prudential Center during KCON’s NY stop June 23-24, 2018. Fans were excited to hear the news after also finding out Wanna One will be going on a world tour around the same time.
Their debut EP 1×1=1 (To Be One), combined with the repackaged album 1-1=0 (Nothing Without You), made Wanna One the first K-pop group to sell over one million copies of a debut album. In March 2018, Wanna One broke their own record by selling 700,000 copies in the pre-orders of their second EP 0+1=1 (I Promise You). The album released on March 19 included title track “Boomerang.”
KCONUSA, which started in 2012, has become the undisputed epicenter for all things Hallyu (a.k.a The Korean Wave). KCON NY and LA garnered more than 128,000 attendees last year between combined. This year guarantees line-up of A-list concerts, celebrity meet-and-greets, workshops and panels. Not only does the programming offer insight into Korean pop music, it also covers food, fashion, television, film, e-sports, Korean beauty and more. The events will take place in NY on June 23-24 and in Los Angeles on August 10-12.
