I’m swerving out of the K-pop lane for a second to tell you all about Babymetal. One of my favorite Japanese rock groups is heading out on a world tour! I missed the girls during their last round of American shows, so I’m glad they’re coming back! Babymetal is one of my favorite Japanese acts because they combine a metal/rock sound with a very interesting, mysterious concept and a little bit of girl power. What’s not to love?
Maybe you’re not familiar with Babymetal. Allow me to introduce you to them. SuMetal, MoaMetal, and YuiMetal are their names. The group has a concept where the ‘Fox God’ guides them and their band in creating music for the world. They even use a ‘fox symbol’ instead of the ‘metal horns’ seen in rock concert crowds.
This time around, Babymetal even get to play at the famous Rock On The Range in Ohio. Maybe it won’t come as a secret to our readers, but I really enjoy rock music and I hope I get a chance to make it out to see Babymetal on this tour. I have been following these talented young women and the amazing Kami Band that plays with them for a long time. Seeing them on world tours and taking huge stages really makes me feel proud. And look at that, they even go to Europe! It has been a goal of mine to see them live someday. Maybe this year I can check that off my list.
Tickets for the tour are on sale and going fast! Be sure to grab yours before they’re gone. Links to ticket sales can be found here.
