On December 19th, 2017 the final episode of MNet’s show ‘Stray Kids’ aired, deciding the fate of nine JYP Entertainment trainees who began their journey on the series back in October with their music video for the song ‘Hellevator’. The program documented the trainees as they worked as a team to accomplish tasks set by JYP in the hopes of debuting together as a nine-member group. During the show, two of the members (Felix and Lee Min Ho) were eliminated, but in the series finale fans voted almost unanimously to bring the trainees back and allow Stray Kids to debut as the full group of nine.
Since then, the group has been busy. They recently released a performance video for a track titled ‘Grrr’, and the song sounds exactly like what one would expect from a title like that. The song comes from their pre-debut mini-album, ‘Mixtape’. ‘Mixtape contains songs that the group performed on the show, and the members themselves helped write all of the tracks on the album.
If that wasn’t enough to keep these boys busy, they also just opened an official Instagram account and have gained almost eighty-two thousand followers in just over one day (at the time this article was written). You can find them on Instagram here to see what they’re up to while they gear up for what is sure to be an impressive debut! Personally, I’m really loving the aggressive tone Stray Kids has set so far and I look forward to hearing a heavy hitting, in your face style official debut track from them in the near future!
