It is with great sadness that we share this news today. Korean news outlet, MyDaily, reported that on December 2nd, Hero Planet’s CEO committed suicide. The 35-year-old, whose last name is Yeom, was found hanging in his home by a neighbor. A note was found in which he states “It’s very hard financially. I’m very sorry to my family.”
According to reports, Mr. Yeom was dealing with a lawsuit from financial issues. He started a cosmetics company before creating Hero Planet but struggled with the debt from the cosmetics company. An unnamed industry official commenting saying that Mr. Yeom had hoped to make a breakthrough with the agency, but [the industry official doesn’t] think it worked out well.
Hero Planet is home to ballad singer Tei. This is not the first sudden loss Tei has experienced. In 2009, his manager, Mr. Park, also committed suicide by burning charcoal in his vehicle. He is believed to have been suffering with depression. After learning of his CEO’s death, Tei expressed his condolences via Instagram.

I know you were shocked, but everyone worried about me, sent me words of encouragement and support, and on one hand I was sorry and on the other hand, I was sincerely thankful. I am writing this carefully hoping that there are no further concerns or misunderstandings. I thank you sincerely once again for everyone concerned about me. Thank you.
